Gibraltar – A very British Affair

In February 2020 I moved to a tiny British Territory at the most southern tip of Spain….only weeks before the global pandemic!

Where micro love ceremonies were still going ahead with couples arriving from all over the world!

Gibraltar had become the hotspot for marriage!

I wonder what the Barbary Macaque Apes at the top of the ‘Rock’ thought of it all…

Arriving back in the Motherland

After leaving the Cayman Islands my journey took me back to  the island of Bermuda. I stayed for a year working in a small events company that also had a small flower kiosk.

The floristry style was on par with the rest of the islands lots of tropical colors and flowers.. though with a European influence.

I decided it was time to return back to the UK where I’d left almost 2 decades before … to discover a new style of design in an Artisan flower shop on the sea shore …

Farewell to the Cayman Islands

After arriving in the Cayman Islands 3 and a half years ago…. i have experienced a lot about destination weddings & events, working in high temperatures on sunny days, along the golden sands of Seven Mile beach,  to make special memories. And i’ve met some interesting  people & had a lot of fun along the way. Said hello to the odd blue Iguana, and maneuvered around the green ones as i pass by on my scooter.

But all good things must come to an end as i turn a page in my never ending book of life….but where too you may ask…? Well it could be to the cold climates of the UK or even Russia.  The mountains & valleys of Slovakia or even Italy….but i have a love for the warmth of the islands, the coconut trees and the rum, so we shall see…stay tuned!!!

Lucky Bermuda Moongate

Legend has it that people who walk through a Bermuda Moongate, especially newlyweds or honeymooners are blessed with good luck!

The first moongate was brought over by a sea captain from China in 1860. It has since been adopted as a national symbol of Bermuda. The Bermudian version is always built with local limestone like many homes, which is very heavy,  but many fell during the 2003 hurricane Fabian. The Chinese version is wooden and easier to export.

Many can be found as entrances to many private homes and are also scattered in public places all over the island.

Wedding of Nicole & Dick

Nicole and Dick were married on the beautiful Seven Mile beach of Grand Cayman. Her bouquet consisted of Coral Roses, shades of pink Lissianthus and pinkish grey Succulents. Just a small gathering of 50 family and friends attended this destination wedding in the sun…in February 2016.

Victoria & David’s Wedding

The Seven Mile beach of Grand Cayman was the stunning setting for the tying of the knot between Victoria & David.

These lovebirds prior to their nuptials had spent the previous few days soaking up the Caribbean sun onboard a cruise. The bride and groom brought a chic east coast vibe to the Caribbean for this amazing wedding.
